And the best part is that it is very much in everyone's budget.

Now coming to the point the chemical free hair cleanser i am talking about is the traditional Amla + Shikakai + Reetha. Yes ladies !! You heard it right. And before you think will it really work let me assure you it will not just work but will work wonders!!!

Let's get started --

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:

1. Amla (dried)
2. Reetha ( soapnut)
3. Shikakai

That's it.  Dirt cheap ! Isn't it???

PROCEDURE OF PREPARATION:

  • Take reetha, shikakai and amla in the ratio of 2:2:1 in a pan .                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Note: You can substitute amla with orange peel or lemon peel. Use only one of the three and in the same quantity as mentioned or it may dry out your hair.

  • Add 750 ml of water and let them soak for 8- 10 hours.
  • Heat the mix on gas till it starts boiling.
  • Take it off the gas and let it cool.

  • When it comes to room temperature crush reetha, shikakai and amla/peels with your hand.
  • Sieve the mixture and use.

This seems to be very tedious job but believe me its not. And moreover it is going to make your hair soft and shiny

You cannot store this mixture in fridge as it will turn bad but can certainly freeze it into ice cubes. Just take out as many ice cubes required 2 hours before washing hair.

HOW TO USE:

Use it like a normal shampoo.

Wet hair and massage it over your scalp and hair. Leave it for 2- 3 minutes and then rinse.

It will hardly lather but will clean your hair very effectively. In case you have oiled your hair you may need to use it twice or thrice.

You can also mix multani mitti or besan to remove oil effectively.

PROS:

  • Conditioner no more: You will not need to follow your hair wash with a conditioner anymore. Just take a pea size amount of coconut or almond oil and rub through the lower end of your hair avoiding the scalp and leave in. And you will see your hair soft and shiny. Believe me!
  • For all hair types: This chemical free hair cleanser can be used by all you lovely ladies irrespective of your hair types. So now you need not dig all the stores in your locality to get the shampoo for your hair type :)
  • Easy to find: You will get these ingredients in almost all grocery shop.
  • No more chemicals: This chemical free hair cleanser is a natural shampoo. It is free from sulphates, parabens and other additives. It is mild and can be used everyday and will not strip natural oils from your hair.
CONS:

Tips for healthy hair.

I have heard a lot of people complaining that they use a whole lot of  hair care range from some expensive brand , go for regular hair spas in parlors and still do not get desired results for their hair.

According to a lot of specialists you do no need to spend a lot on these expensive items to have those lovely tresses. Just a little bit of care and natural remedies will help you have that beautiful hair you always dream of.

So, I want to share with you certain tips to get and maintain your beautiful tresses -

1. HEALTHY FROM WITHIN.

I believe that the first thing to healthy skin and hair is to have a healthy system from within.

To have a beautiful hair eat a diet rich in proteins, vitamin E , zinc, Vitamin A and Biotin. Some of the best foods for hair are fish, sweet potatoes, eggs, green leafy vegetables, soya beans , carrots, mangoes, pumpkins, apricots, kidney beans, legumes, yoghurt, kiwis , tomatoes and strawberries.

2 .CLEANLINESS IS IMPORTANT.

The main reason for hair fall is dandruff and itchy scalp. So cleanliness is important for healthy hair and scalp.

3. RIGHT SHAMPOO FOR YOUR HAIR TYPE.

Pick up a shampoo meant for your hair type. Avoid using shampoo with paraben, silicon and sulphates.

I would suggest you girls to use natural cleanser made up of soapnut ( reetha) and shikakai. I would give the detailed method very soon.

4. AVOID HOT WATER.

Do not use hot water to wash your hair as it may strip protective oils from your hair and make it brittle and dry. Instead use water which is a bit warmer than your body temperature.

5. HOT OIL MASSAGE.

Give your hair a hot oil massage once a week with almond / olive or coconut oil.

6. DEEP CONDITION.

Deep condition your hair once a week.

For this you can mix egg and yoghurt and rub it on your scalp and wash off completely.

7. AIR DRY YOUR HAIR.

Always try to air dry your hair and avoid using blow dryers as much as possible.

8. GOOD QUALITY COMB.

I would suggest to use wooden comb instead of plastic ones.

9. TIGHT IS NOT RIGHT.

Do not tie your hair too tightly to prevent breakage.

10. TRIM REGULARLY.

Trim your hair regularly in every 3-4 months. This will prevent split ends in your hair.

11. WET HAIR BRUSHING.

Do not brush your hair as wet hair is 3 times weaker and prone to breakage.

No matter how much makeup you put, if you do not have a good skin you will not look beautiful. Makeup can only enhance what you have. It can never substitute the natural skin care. To get a healthy, clear and glowing  skin, the first step you must take is to keep your skin clean and moisturized.
So it is very important to follow the CTM routine twice everyday. However you should not do it more than that as it may rip your skin off its essential oil and do more harm than good.

CTM stands for Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing. If you religiously follow these 3 steps you are sure to see the difference in your skin.

There are many products available in the market for CTM but these chemical based products may do more harm than they do good to your skin. So you can opt for the home remedies which will have no side effects and will be easy on your pockets as well.
